About Sam

Your local member of Parliament

In January 2015, Sam was elected to the South Australian Parliament as the Member for Davenport. Since then, he has absolutely loved, and appreciated, the opportunity to serve the community.  

Sam was born in Mildura and raised in Adelaide. He graduated from Marryatville High School, and studied at the University of Adelaide, completing a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) as well as becoming a member of CPA Australia.

Prior to entering Parliament, Sam worked for Pitcher Partners Chartered Accountants and the ANZ Banking Group.  Sam held leadership roles in the Young Liberal Movement at both a State and Federal level, including serving as Young Liberal President.

Following the 2018 South Australian Election, Sam was elected as the new member for Waite.

Sam has developed strong working relationships with residents and community groups in his electorate. He is patron of the Blackwood RSL, the Hills Choral Society and the Blackwood Memorial Hall. He is an active member of many community organisations including, Lions, Blackwood Recreation Centre and local Rotary Clubs.

Sam is a passionate supporter of the local sporting teams within his electorate, as well as the Sturt Football Club and the Adelaide Crows.
