PREPARATIONS UNDERWAY FOR BUSHFIRE SEASON
As the bushfire danger season begins, suburbs on the outskirts of Adelaide including Blackwood, Belair, Brownhill Creek and Eden Hills are being urged to be ‘bushfire ready’.
The State Liberal Government has organised prescribed burns on private and public
land including in Belair National Park.
Strategic burns help lessen the threat of bushfires throughout the height of the
Member for Waite, Sam Duluk MP, whose electorate covers bushfire prone areas is
encouraging local residents to be prepared and stresses the importance of having a
bushfire action plan organised.
“The CFS works hard to protect life and property and I want to commend the hardworking
volunteers who give their time to help protect their local communities,” he
“However, it is also the responsibility of each person residing in a bushfire zone to
protect themselves and their homes against the threat of bushfires.
“Simple actions such as cutting long grass and removing flammable materials away
from your house can make a difference in the event of a bushfire.”
