Casting the mind back to 2015, it is all too easy to forget the previous State Labor Government’s ‘Transforming Health’ policy debacle. Labor’s position to decommission the Repatriation General Hospital was clear from the onset.
Our community responded promptly to defend this vital service. This was a great example of people power creating change.
Please see below some key moments I was extremely proud to be involved with:
- Tabling one of the largest petitions ever presented to the House of Assembly
- In 2017, moved a Motion to Save the Repat in State Parliament
- Veterans who slept on the steps of Parliament House
- Joining with many of you at community rallies and forums
Now the focus is on ‘Reactivating the Repat’. I’m glad to see continued investment in the hospital, that is providing new services and facilities for those in need.
