Station refresh program

Mr DULUK (Waite) (14:40): A supplementary. Minister, as part of this program Refresh, can you commit to upgrading the Belair station, which was built in I think 1883, Mitcham, and a park‑and-ride at Torrens Park as part of this railway investment?

The Hon. C.L. WINGARD (Gibson Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing) (14:40): I thank the member for the question, and clearly it has been burning in his ears the disappointment that he has in the state that Labor left a lot of these train stations right across Adelaide. That is why we are putting this program in place. I have outlined the stations that we are beginning with, the stations that we are starting with, 14 of them, plus Ovingham makes it 15, that are getting upgrades along that Gawler line. That is where the priorities will be, and we will continue with those other stations. I mentioned that there is $7.5 million in the out years going through, and we will be looking at those as well. But I do feel your pain, because I know when Labor was in government they left our train stations in an appalling state.

The Hon. C.L. WINGARD: So there we have the Labor government that actually did nothing and they are carping and complaining now that we are investing. We are getting on with it with $110 million. They don't like it, but we are getting on with it. I have outlined the stations that we are doing. We will be looking at more beyond that four-year period, but they are the stations that we are doing over the next four years.
